"GBV (gender-based violence) is a pandemic that needs to be addressed. We felt that we can't sit down while our community is gradually fading away. For our sixth-year celebration, we decided to come together to fight GBV against women and children and encourage victims to seek help and not keep quiet," says Marapong Funwalk Committee Member, David Makitla.

Envision Brand says that the walk will involve different stakeholders including:

  • Limpopo MEC of Health, Dieketseng Mashego
  • football players, Happy Jele, Portia Modise, Edward "Magents" Motale and Ndumiso Mabena, and
  • actress, Angel Pooe.

"We are honoured to partner and support Marapong Funwalk by creating awareness of the many challenges our communities are facing and most importantly giving hope and changing lives in our communities," says Tumi Mthembu, CEO and Founder of Envision Brand.

Envision Brand concludes that after the 5km walk, the community will enjoy a fun-filled day with kiddies play area, boot-camp and aerobics, Indigenous games food stalls and a performance by Dr Winnie Mashaba.
