As the home of one of South Africa's music shows, 5FM continues its aim to prove why it remains the advocate for youth culture, dance culture and Top 40 centred music.

DJ Tshepi was nominated as Best Dance Music Radio Show, Best Radio DJ as well as Best Female DJ, and Das Kapital for Best Dance Music Radio Show.

The South African Dance Music Awards aims to be an acknowledgement of musical excellence and pioneering spirit within the vibrant world of dance music. As a platform in South Africa dedicated to honouring the talents and achievements of artists, producers, DJs and industry professionals in the realm of dance music, it strives to shine a spotlight on the contributions made to the local and global music scene, says the station.

It aims to recognise and celebrate the artists who have pushed boundaries, broken barriers and set new standards of innovation and creativity within the dance music industry.

Every Saturday between 19:00 and 22:00, DJ Tshepi hosts Piano Plug on 5, aimed at being a full Amapiano culture experience.

The show aims to dive deep into the genre with Behind the Log Drum, where Tshepi sits down with vocalists, producers and DJs to unpack the stories, samples and process behind their music. Then comes Loudest in the Street, a chart segment that moves from underground submissions to trendsetters, genre benders and throwback favourites, says the station.

And to conclude, Yano Versushas brings two DJ's to compete in a live deck battle, aimed at giving rising talent a platform to shine.

On Friday nights between 22:00 and 01:00, Das Kapital presents In Das We Trust, 5FM's long-running exploration of South African and global dance music. The show is built on a commitment to pushing boundaries across all sub-genres and emerging styles, featuring over 1 500 DJs in the mix over nearly 11 years on 5FM.
