The platform launched in Durban on Friday, 21 August, marking the first stop on a nationwide journey that will continue through Mthatha, Johannesburg, Mbombela and Polokwane.

Along the way, the Raised by the Bar truck aims to bring communities together through storytelling, live experiences and practical support, while celebrating the people, places and traditions that have shaped generations of South Africans, says the brand.

Local performers will also have opportunities to showcase their talent, while communities are invited to share the stories, memories and traditions that have shaped them.

The campaign took shape in the Durban taxi rank. The brand says that taxi ranks are more than places of transit — they can be where the rhythm of South African life plays out every day. They can be a place where businesses are built, conversations are shared and thousands of local traders earn a living. Local traders are also part of that story, says the brand.

As Raised by the Bar continues its journey across South Africa, each community will add its own chapter to a living archive of the people, places and memories that have been a background to Sunlight Green Bar's aim to be a part of everyday South African life, concludes the brand.
