Recognised for his resilience and strength on the rugby field, Nche will take the lead in Dove Men+Care's campaigns, serving as a powerful advocate for behaviours that promote personal grooming and overall wellbeing, says Dove.

"At Dove Men+Care, we believe men are distinguished by their dedication to nurturing the environments that shape them, not just by their job titles or societal roles. We understand that self-care isn't just about looking after yourself; it's about empowering men to be their best selves so they can better support the people and communities they care about," says Navini Ramsamie, Dove's deodorant brand manager.

"By taking care of their own health and happiness, men are better equipped to care for others. That's why Dove Men+Care stands by the principle that caring for yourself is the first step in caring for others," adds Ramsamie.

The brand says that during the event, which coincided with World Suicide Prevention Day, Nche delivered a State of the Nation-style address, highlighting the importance of normalising self-care among men and introducing the Champions of C.A.R.E. manifesto — a commitment to fostering a culture of confident self-care.

Dove adds that the campaign aims to rally one million men to pledge their commitment to self-care over the next two years, reinforcing the message that caring for oneself is the first step toward caring for others.

Nche also revealed Dove Men+Care's innovative new deodorant range, a market-first formulation designed to make skin irritation from shaving a thing of the past while offering 72-hour protection and superior skin care in one powerful product, the brand adds.

"Dove Men+Care's deodorant range is designed to help men feel comfortable and confident, so they can focus on what really matters — taking care of themselves and those around them," adds Ramsamie.

The brand says that since 2021, Springbok captain Siya Kolisi has been the face of Dove Men+Care, leading the brand's 'Care Conversations' campaign, which provides men with a safe space to engage in critical dialogues about mental health, accountability and holistic self-care. It has encouraged men to participate in behaviours that promote personal grooming and overall well-being.

Dove adds that it is set to continue this legacy with Nche at its helm, reaching even more men and solidifying its place as the go-to choice for those who understand that true strength lies in caring.

"I'm incredibly proud to take on this new role with Dove Men+Care. As a rugby player, I've learned that true strength isn't just about physical power — it's also about taking care of your mental and emotional well-being. I'm excited to help men across South Africa embrace self-care as a way to not only improve their own lives but also to support the people around them," concludes Nche.
